Team and Developmental Team try outs
At Southern our coaches, gymnast’ and their families are all a part of the support team that helps make it more than just a team, but a family. Competitive team membership is for the child who wants more of the sport than can be achieved by participation in our recreational program.
Register for clinics and try outs through you customer portal, or event calendar for non members.
Open to girls ages 5-15 years
Try out clinics June 8th and 15th 7:30-8:30pm
$10 per clinic - Must attend atleast one clinic to try out.
Team Try outs June 22nd 7:00-8:30pm
Try out registration cost $10
What to Expect at Try out’s
Parents are welcome to stay and view try outs, gymnast will be dismissed at 8:30pm.
Gymnast will be evaluated during stretch, all 4 events, and strength during the try outs.
Gymnast will be placed on our team, or developmental team if they exhibit the physical and mental strength necessary to succeed on our competitive team track.
We will be evaluating skills and drills they have been introduced to in our class program. We are looking for dedicated athletes that pay attention to detail, who are putting effort into their form and technique when given corrections.
Attire: gymnast must wear leotard, hair up neatly. (athletic shorts/pants optional).
What to bring: gymnast must bring a water bottle labeled with name, all other personal items must be left with parents.
